Freshman Year

Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Institute of Technology, Aeronautics Engineering Department. SVIT

Finally the most awaited day of my life arrived. My first day of Freshman Year of college. I wore my best pair of jeans and tee, with a side hanging bag. But heavy rains were the spoil sport. I was drenched. All my efforts to look my best were washed in vain. I had dreamed of a perfect first day. I'd just walk in a room full of strangers, and the heads would turn. Girls would start whispering as I'd walk past them.

But it wasn't to be. Most of the coolest people hadn't turn up. And I was left with the geeky nerds. I was excited to meet one particular person, Nitika. The girl who had contacted me on Orkut as she found out that I was going be in her class. And we were to meet each other that day. But sadly, she was nowhere to be seen. I wish the day ended as soon as possible. Had boring introduction lectures to all the subjects.

Finally college had started properly. I had started enjoying the days I desperately awaited. Made awesome new lot of friends and my social networking page was booming with increasing friends list. I saw her, but didn't have the balls to go up and introduce myself. She didn't recognize me though. I attended almost all the lectures. This was the time I had started following Football. I played for my Department team and was one of the most integral part of the team, the goalkeeper. College was having its effect on me. 1st semester ended and I didn't even realize how time passed by at a blitzkrieg speed.

2nd semester had started and I didn't feel like attending the lectures anymore. Started Bunking them. I made new friends from other departments other than Aeronautics. I met Nitika for the 1st time and she went on to become one of my best friends. This was the time I would never ever forget for the rest of my life. I was introduced to a new thing called Hookah. I didn't used to smoke at first but used to enjoy the kick that the rest of my friends were getting out of it and their insane behavior afterwards. Soon I too joined them. And it was an amazing feeling to get a kick.

I still didn't used to drink or smoke cigarettes. But was in love with hookah. Probably used to have it every alternate day. The love life had stalled as I was too busy enjoying the new flavors of life. A girl in my class had asked me out, but I was never interested in her.

Football, Hookah and Bunking was all that I could sum up my Freshman Year with. And I was already looking forward to the Sophomore Year. Bring it on bitches.
